New Update

We got a new update via email. It was so wonderful to read about him actually knowing about us. I will give you a few quotes from it. "He eats any food given to him." Does this sound like my child already or what!?! "He loves fruit and cookies. He has a great appetite." Again, sound familiar? This is the really good part! "His foster parents explain to him that he has a permanent family, a father and a mother...He recognizes his adoptive parents in the photos. He loves to look at the photos of his adoptive family members." "Through the explanation by the foster parents, (he) understands he now has adoptive parents. He asks his foster mother "When does my adoptive parents come to receive me?", or "Why does she not yet come to receive me?" Jennifer says he is already blaming her! "(he) gets along well with the children of his class. They love him much. His foster family members and his neighbors are very happy that he now has an adoptive family." This is just absolutely wonderful news to us. Although we know that waiting on the government is hard, we can now see how hard it must be on him. Please pray for patience and understanding. Also, praise a wonderful and loving God for giving Hoang a blessed home to stay in until he can be home here. I will leave you with a quote from a book that Jennifer is currently reading. It sums up our feeling quite appropriately. It is from the book, "Adopting the Older Child" by Claudia L. Jewett. "We didn't adopt out of pity, although compassion was there; we adopted because we deeply wanted a larger family and we felt this was a good way to go about it. We didn't see adoption as a cause, although social consciousness was there; we adopted because we really like to be parents...We didn't adopt because we are noble, unusual people; we adopted in spite of our shortcomings..." Also, I will add, we are adopting because God put us on this path and we are gladly skipping down it! Love to all! Let us know what you think. You can leave us comments.

It's Wednesday night late and I've just finished reading through the entire web site because I couldn't stop reading. I got the info when AC came to dance yesterday. I'm sur she is missing you a lot so I hope that being at dance for a little while helped to take her mind off all that is going on in her life right now. There will be quite a few changes in her life that will take a little getting use to no matter how much having a new little brother is going to be fun. We hope that all is going well and will continue to keep you in our prayers as your journey continues. When you get home,I'm sure you will be speaking another language. If nothing else,I read the language of love in all your updates. It's very heartwarming to be involved with or just have a small part in your adventure. All of us at the dance studio send our love, thoughts and prayers to you all. Love, Edie, Melissa,Carrie and the rest of the dance family!
