One More Step . . .

Today, we went to get Isaac's passport. We expected another long wait at the Ministry of Police. That was where we went last Wednesday to apply for the passport. Our social worker, Truong, knows the ropes, so we just sit where he tells us to. Anyway, we were to meet him there at 2:00. We walked right in the door and barely had a chance to get out a snack for Isaac before we had the passport in our hands!
Tomorrow, we are still scheduled for his medical exam and our visa interview. We'll let you know tomorrow how that goes. Truong thinks we can have the visa tomorrow or Friday at the latest! Remember, that is the thing we need in order to bring him into the United States. TO GET TO COME HOME ! ! !
Here is the good news. We are scheduled to fly out of Hanoi on Monday morning at 1:00ish. We have confirmed flights all the way home. In a later post today, I'll have Marty include the flight numbers, etc. We are trying as hard as we can to get an earlier flight. We are waitlisted on Saturday and Sunday. As of now, they say the flights on those days are full. You know what to do. Pray, Pray, Pray.

Tears are flowing as I read how close you are to coming home. HOME - isn't that one of the most comforting words. I called and told mom and she screamed and cried. I have emailed Patty Vincent to blast a prayer request to the Highland Baptist Church family and I have told all my friends here at work who I know will lift you up in prayer that you get that weekend flight home. If you do not get the flight we know that the Lord has His reasons. My heart is so heavy waiting for your return. I love you very much. We are counting the days. Love Cindy

Speaking of picture day, Mom said Anna Claire woke up about 6:30 this morning and they were lying there talking and Anna Claire said "Nanna, will you do my nails before school?" Nanna said "yes, but have to get up and get ready so we can do that last." So she got right out of bed and got ready and "got her nails did". She has been so good. You two would be so proud. Ms Debbie kept her Monday afternoon after school and she took her to CC's Pizza and then they went shopping at Walmart. Today she is going to Paul and Kristen's house to play with Nathan and Caroline. She has been a real trooper. Mom has been so proud of her at how well she has done. Dad takes her to school everyday and picks her up so they have had a chance to really bond. I can't tell you enough how much I love you.

This update is the best! I know that you can hardly contain yourself knowing that you could be home in just a few short days. We are praying that you wil get on a flight Saturday or Sunday if that is God's plan. We can't wait to get to met Issac and spoil him like AC. I'm sorry that we haven't gotten AC yet, but have plans to check with your family this weekend. Long story will tell later, though not anywhere as exciting as your two weeks. You both have done a wonderful job of making us back home feel like we are there with you. Issac looks like he is a very happy little boy who has always belonged with his new Mommy & Daddy. Safe travels,
We love you,
Ralph & Sharon

I continue to enjoy your adventures in Isaac's country. Growing up and hearing about Viet Nam in the news nightly, this has been a treat to see how things have changed over there. I am glad you are having good experiences, enjoying the culture, food and sights and I am thrilled that things are working out for you all to be home soon! I continue to think about you all daily and pray for your safe journey back to little old Stanly County!

Hello, Ingrams! This is exciting; I know you can't wait to come home to Anna Claire and all that's familiar. I am so looking forward to meeting Isaac and seeing all of you together as a family. Thanks for all the great pictures on the blog. Our September Kidsville issue has a page on Viet Nam! I showed it to Anna Claire and we looked on the map for Hanoi. (Of course, I'm sure someone else has done that with her as well.) You are in my thoughts and prayers. Continue to take care and we will see you soon! af

Anna Claire was ecstatic when we saw that you are going to be home sooner than projected. As a matter of fact as soon as we read it...she asked if she could announce it to the class. Of course I let her and it was so sweet because some of the kids started saying " Congratulations Anna Claire!" We're all so excited things are moving along and going so smoothly (of course we all know God has his hands around all of it). I will continue to pray, pray, pray and enjoy the blog. Can't wait until you all are back home! We all love you very much, are so happy for you, and will continue to keep you in our thoughts and prayers. angie

Hey from Gastonia! We are all excited here to know that you will be coming home soon...we'll pray real hard for Saturday. We have a praise time at church before the preacher does his lesson and I told everyone about your adoption. Someone else had a brother bringing home a baby from Guatemala this week. I know you can't wait to get home and I know you have a wonderful extended family and group of friends that can't wait to see you and meet Isaac. It sounds like Anna Claire has had a wonderful experience here at home even though I know she misses you terribly. I bet she'll have an adventure or two to tell you all about. Congratulations again and as soon as things settle down for you we will have to head that way and meet your new bundle of joy...and see your beautiful blonde one again as well.
We will continue to pray for an early and safe return and that Isaac will make an easy transition into his new world as one of the Ingram Four.
We love ya bunches,
Debbie B.
